In the last three years, Jitoleze has trained 100 mushroom growers within and out of Busia on aspects of mushroom production, 300 women and youths in Business Enterprise Management in areas of tailoring, Arts and Crafts, Computer Literacy, Hairdressing and Saloon, Boxing skills and Car washing offered career guidance seminars.

To about 1000 pupils and students in Busia Municipality, trained 50 farmer groups (urban dwellers) in kitchen and sack gardening, organized Busia cultural gala in 2017 attracting about 1500 both school going and out of school children and youths, and three youth summits with the recent one in 2020 attracting over 800 youths. Our approach is hands-on training and follow-up of trainees to ensure they start up their own enterprises or are attached to already existing business enterprises.

OUR APPROACH

We believe that the mind is a not a vessel to be filled in, but a potential fire that just needs ignition. The mindset is the engine of every action an individual undertakes, with a wrong attitude nothing can be achieved. No dream is too big to be achieved and every human has the inert ability inside them to proper beyond imagination.

In the world of humanitarian aid, no single livelihood intervention can successfully impact on society unless the mindset of the individual beneficiaries has been changed in the right way. Our approach to society discrepancies is, therefore, a collaborated one addressing the root causes of problems using design thinking principles rather than superficial symptoms.

We uncap our beneficiaries from the prison of perennial mindset and thereafter empower them with livelihood techniques in agriculture, entrepreneurship and art and crafts.

Poverty is a state of mindset rather than the level of income of an individual; we deliver our beneficiaries from the mediocrity state of mindset and empower them with the 21st-century skills, methods of living, lifelong skills that they will apply throughout their entire lives.

“Think of anything, acquire the necessary skills to have it done, meet the right people and live it, there is no other magic’’-Madolo Alex (Ag. chairman Board).
